THE ROYAL
BANK OF CANADA AND HOW GUY SAINT-PIERRE WAS KEPT ON AS A DIRECTOR, AFTER
ALLOWING SNC s ACCOUNT TO BE SEIZED FOR NON-PAYMENT OF THE COURT JUDGEMENT
I sent two letters about what was going, with
supporting documents, on to John Cleghorn ‑ President & C.O.O. of the Royal
Bank of Canada at 1 Place Ville Marie, Montreal, Quebec, dated April 27th
1992 and May 5th 1992. In his reply to these,
dated June
30th 1992, it was clear that
John Cleghorn had simply referred it to the bank s lawyers who merely advised
him to do nothing.
NOTES
: (1) The April 27th 1992 letter was actually a circular sent to various
people, John Cleghorn being among them. It was hand-written but the version
shown here is a copy-typed one, to keep the file size down
(2)
The May 5th 1992 letter was sent to John Cleghorn only. This also
was hand-written but the version shown here is a copy-typed one, to keep the
file size down
Allan
Taylor, mentioned again below, was then the Royal Bank s President and
C.E.O., was shortly to retire and was to be replaced by John Cleghorn.
See this "Globe and Mail" article from
August 9th, 1993
I
wrote to John Cleghorn a third time
and Allan
Taylor for the first time on November 17th 1992, again with supporting
documents. They both returned the
letters to me, without any comments - though on behalf of John Cleghorn, Mr. Rob
Edwards requested cessation of any
further correspondence from me, in a
letter dated November 30th 1992.
Clearly, they were
embarrassed and did not want to know.
The documents that I sent to
Mr. Cleghorn and Mr. Taylor mentioned the SNC office furniture seizure and SNC
s Royal Bank account seizure, among other
things.
WHY DID THEY KEEP GUY SAINT-PIERRE ON
AS A DIRECTOR OF THE ROYAL BANK?
What do YOU think?
