Then in 1986 Mr.
Mass resigned from my case when he was
appointed as a Judge of the Quebec Superior Court; additionally, at the time,
we were both running out of resources to continue with the case.
At that time I had just joined 306 Wing
of the RCAF Association in Montreal,
and its Service Officer at the time, Wor. Bro. A.J. Fisher, put me in touch with another lawyer, Ralph A. Cohen,
who agreed to take over my case for a small retainer which I could only pay
later that year , following my mother s death in the U.K. and a small
inheritance from her. As things turned out, however, Cohen turned out to be
incompetent and so from November 1987 I
had to go to a third lawyer – to whom I was also referred by Wor. Bro. A.J.
Fisher.
This lawyer
- William I. Miller, Q.C. - finished the case for me, in very difficult
circumstances.
It
culminated with a judgement in my favour – albeit very small compared with the
amount claimed - and with SNC having an
entire floor of office furniture seized and sold, followed by seizure of their
Royal Bank bank account, when they refused to pay in accordance with the Court
order. This and everything else that went on is described and fully documented
elsewhere on this site.
